Summary: On March 2, 2024, Chairman Wang Dingbang and a group of colleagues traveled to Mercury Corporation in South Korea to discuss quality issues with our products and explore future cooperation opportunities. During our week-long trip to Korea, our team reached a unanimous consensus: we will continue to strive relentlessly toward the company’s goal of achieving 300 million yuan in sales and 12 million yuan in profit. Externally, General Manager Liu encouraged us to go out more, observe widely, learn extensively, retain the best practices while discarding the inferior ones, and focus on continuous technological improvements to enhance product quality and work efficiency. Internally, the Chairman emphasized that all our employees must cultivate the “four awarenesses”—safety awareness, quality awareness, output awareness, and value awareness—and adhere firmly to the “50 Commitments” while striving tirelessly toward the “2,500 Goals.” The development of Zhongjian Company is inseparable from every single employee. The March 8th festival event was successfully held.

To commemorate International Women’s Day and carry forward its profound significance, Zhongjian Company distributed rice as a gift to all employees on the occasion of the holiday. On March 8 itself, the company organized tug-of-war and basketball competitions, with employees from various departments participating. At the start of the event, Wang delivered a brief speech, extending his heartfelt blessings and gratitude to all female employees. He also explained the symbolic meaning behind the rice gift: “Flowers represent romance, skincare products symbolize beauty, while rice represents food and sustenance. Right now, our company is still focused on ensuring that both ourselves and our employees have enough to eat and live comfortably. Let us keep striving hard so that we can soon move toward a future filled with romance and beauty.”
Tug-of-war is an ancient and fascinating sport. In this competition, every team member must bring their very best performance, work closely together, and combine their individual strengths to achieve the team’s common goal. Only when team members collaborate seamlessly and coordinate closely can they secure victory. This spirit of cooperation fosters a strong sense of teamwork, enabling each individual to pursue their personal goals while contributing wholeheartedly to the collective success of the team. It highlights the power of teamwork, cultivates a healthy competitive spirit, and this mindset isn’t limited to tug-of-war—it can also be applied to other aspects of life, such as team-based work and collaborative projects. The organic folding workshop, manual folding workshop, abdominal padding workshop, smart sewing workshop, bleaching workshop, weaving workshop, and logistics department—all participated in the tug-of-war competition. Members from each team pulled with all their might, using every ounce of strength to pull on the thick hemp rope that symbolized their team. Employees watching from the sidelines became enthusiastic cheerleaders, raising their voices in unison to encourage and cheer on their teammates. As the rope was pulled toward one side, everyone erupted into cheers and celebration—what an exhilarating experience!

Basketball is a quintessential team sport, in which players, coaches, management personnel, medical staff, and other members each fulfill their respective roles and work together to form the cohesive unit that is the team. Each player brings unique strengths to the table, leveraging their diverse experiences and varying skill levels to perform their assigned roles within the team and ultimately achieve victory. In our basketball tournament, teams are divided into production teams and logistics teams for competition. By stepping away from their regular duties, the players can relieve work-related stress during the games, run freely across the court, and fully savor the joy of teamwork.
The competition adheres to the principle of “Friendship First, Competition Second.” What matters most is not winning or losing, but giving your all in every single moment and igniting passion with fervent enthusiasm. This event aims to help employees integrate more deeply into the company, enabling them to feel that we are a collective rather than just individuals, thereby strengthening team cohesion. Just like tug-of-war or basketball games, our work requires us to unite and cooperate, pulling together in one direction if we hope to achieve victory. Let us, in our future work, remain united and forge ahead with one-minded determination, creating a brilliant future for Zhongjian!

How can workshop managers ensure workshop productivity and improve staff utilization?

Factors Affecting Production Efficiency

1. The sales department missed placing an order.
2. The order only has a delivery date; no processing start date has been set.
3. There are too many urgent or ad-hoc orders, and production schedules are changed frequently.
Machine and mold failures in the production workshop, with long repair times. 4.
5. The quality in the production process is unstable, with frequent rework or repairs required.
The production department has not conducted a thorough capacity analysis. 7. Procurement of materials is often delayed, and the quality of purchased items is frequently poor. 6.
8. The procurement material plan and the production plan cannot be coordinated and synchronized.
9. Schedule Plan for Outsourced Processing
10. Frequent changes in product technology

Ten Powerful Tools to Boost Workshop Production

I. The fundamental skills that a sound production and operations system must possess: If we fail to stabilize our footing and ensure efficiency, how can we expect to put down strong roots—roots that are essential for branches to sprout, flowers to bloom, and fruits to bear? A good tree stems from healthy roots. To enhance production efficiency, we must first grasp the foundation of production and operations management—the basic management practices. By applying the 58 methods and simultaneously optimizing production and operations processes, we can identify effective solutions.
The key is this: Whether it’s a manufacturing process or a business workflow, only by making them transparent, visual, standardized, and stable can they be effectively managed.
II. Know yourself and know your opponent, set clear goals, and enhance efficiency.
It’s better to rely on yourself than to depend on others—help yourself, and others will help you. The so-called “waste” in the production environment refers to all those factors that reduce production efficiency.
Through the action plan and on-site diagnosis, we will identify the root causes of efficiency losses in production and operations management by addressing the seven types of waste.

The seven wastes are primarily:

  1. The Wastefulness of Waiting
  2. Waste from handling
  3. Poor waste
  4. Waste of motion
  5. Waste from the processing itself
  6. Waste in inventory
  7. Waste from overproduction

III. How to apply on-site rapid improvement methods for source-level management and enhance efficiency.

Efficiency is life; time is money. In the fiercely competitive market, for a company to remain invincible, the key lies in being “fast” and “innovative”—speed brings swiftness, and strength drives innovation. Quickly identify methods and processes that can improve production efficiency, swiftly implement improvements, and promptly track down any issues. On-site rapid improvement techniques:
1. IE rapidly improves the four key concepts: eliminate, cancel, rearrange or replace, and simplify.
2. Use the 5W2H method for source and flow management.

4. Ensure that plans are thoroughly substantiated, reduce planned losses, and enhance efficiency.

The process of planning is, in essence, a process of liberating the mind and seeking truth from facts—a process of reform and innovation. Only by thoroughly examining and substantiating potential scenarios can we proactively prevent problems before they arise.
